For the first time in his career, Justin Bieber has crossed realms and delivered vocals in Spanish for a brand-new remix of Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee's "Despacito," which arrived on Sunday (April 16).
In the new rendition of the worldwide smash, the pop titan can be heard beginning his contributions in English before transitioning into Spanish for the hook. "You are my sunrise on the darkest day, got me feeling some kind of way/ Make me want to savor every moment slowly (slowly)," the 23-year-old sings during the introductory verse. As for the cover art for the track, the two Latin heavyweights lifted one of the star's new studio shots, which he posted on Instagram last week, leading us to believe his most recent visit to the lab was for said remix.
Bieber's remix of the cut is likely to propel the song into the American market. After topping the charts in 13 countries, including Italy, Portugal, Switzerland and Romania, the track is currently sitting comfortably at the No. 44 position on the Billboard Hot 100. At time of press, Bieber's remix of the hit had already racked up over three million listens on YouTube.
