Mike Shinoda Shares Anime-Inspired 'World's On Fire' Video: Watch

Mike Shinoda may have released his debut solo album Post Traumatic last year, but that doesn't mean he's done working on it. On Thursday (September 5), the Linkin Park emcee released an animated music video for his song "World's On Fire."

"My music and anime have had a long history crossing paths, from the fan videos edited over Linkin Park's music, to our original video for 'Breaking The Habit,'" he explained about the video. "This new video for 'World's On Fire' is a lighthearted video that focuses on a female protagonist as she learns to control her unique power."

"I've never taken an animated project from beginning to end," he continued. "This video, for 'World's On Fire,' seemed to arrive in my head with a full story, setting, and characters all at once, and I couldn't ignore it."

Shinoda released Post Traumatic last June, almost a year after the death of his close friend and bandmate Chester Bennington, and admitted that its conception was like therapy for him.

"It's basically chronologically created in a certain way, so in terms of the events of the last nine months, it started in a really dark place, and then slowly as things in my life got brighter, the music did too. That's something you notice from beginning to end on it," he told iHeartRadio at the time.

Earlier this year, he released a deluxe version of the album that included a couple new songs.
